In the golden light of Sicily, we invite you to explore self-portraiture. Not just as a skill, but as a practice of self-connection, movement, and artistic expression.
This retreat is a sanctuary for women who wish to slow down, embrace their presence, and create stunning imagery that reflects their inner world.
Includes accommodation, guided sessions, vegetarian and vegan meals.
Set in an old Sicilian farm house surrounded by nature, this retreat offers the perfect setting to slow down and immerse yourself in beauty.
Taking it slow and telling stories by capturing what she feels is Carina’s intuitive approach to her work. The tactile process of film allows her to immerse herself in intimate moments, connecting more deeply with herself, humans, and nature.
Deconstructing and reconstructing what she sees, Alice approaches photography conceptually by focusing on ideas, visual language, and composition to explore perception and identity. She creates space for personal storytelling to take shape in its own rhythm.
This retreat is for women interested in exploring self-portraiture as a creative and self-reflective practice. Whether you’re a photographer, an artist, or simply curious about using photography as a tool for self-expression, you are welcome. An Openness to explore is required.
No, you don’t need professional experience. We will guide you through the basics of self-portraiture, composition, and working with light. If you are more advanced, there will be space to deepen your creative practice.
You can bring any camera that you feel comfortable using—whether it’s a film camera, a DSLR or mirrorless camera. The retreat is about creative expression, not technical perfection.
Each day will be anchored by morning and evening rituals, creating a gentle rhythm for the experience. Beyond that, the structure will be shaped by the group; adapting to the skills, interests, and needs. There may be guided teachings, exercises, or discussions on photography, light, and self-portraiture, but the focus will always be on exploration rather than a fixed curriculum.
This is an intimate retreat with a small group of 3 participants (exluding the hosts) to ensure a personal and connected experience.
Flights and transportation to the retreat location are not included.
